Bodega Rivero González
Parras de la Fuente, Mexico

"They Say That What Begins Well, Ends Well."

In 1597, the Spaniards planted the first vines on the American continent precisely here, in the Parras de la Fuente region.  For over 400 years, with its searing hot days and its breezy cool nights, the Parras region has withstood the test of time as an excellent region for growing grapes and producing wine.

"Parreños" are especially proud of their town's tradition and heritage, forever known as the birthplace of wine in both North and South America.

The Rivero González family grew up in this region, a quiet community in the Northern Mexican state of Coahuila.  Just like their ancestors, they love this land and know it like the back of their own hands.  The winery prides itself on its wines, stating explicitly that a wine is only good enough for sale if it is a wine they would share with family and close friends.

With each harvest, from the farmers who care for the wines to the different enologists who work with the winery year after year, the team prides itself on its locally-produced wines that are both environmentally- and socially-responsible. Embraced by a community which wants to share the sincerest flavors of their land with the World, and that celebrates every drop of wine produced, "Friends make Rivero González wines for Friends".

It is this conviction that in the wine's sophistication also lies its simplicity.

As one of only two winemakers in the world (that we could find) who produces a white Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as her success thus far in the New York City market, Maria Rivero is rapidly solidifying her global reputation as a forward-thinker in the wine world.

The following wines are currently imported:
